Lindsay Dee Lohan is an American actress and singer who was shifted to UAE late last year, has posted Islamic greeting "Aslam Alaikum" on her Instagram and Twitter accounts this week, which means “peace be upon you”. In that response Muslims started tweeting messages of congratulations to the actress.
Within the last year, Lohan has spent a lot of time in the United Arab Emirates, specifically in Dubai. She also traveled to Turkey to volunteer and be an advocate for refugees. She also went on the Turkish TV show ‘Haberturk’ to speak about the immense backlash she faced in the United States for embracing Islam.
I am so excited for this new chapter in my life!” Lohan told the Daily Mail, revealing she’s “very excited for what the new year holds”.
Lindsay Lohan has posted on her Facebook account, in which she publicizes a recent interview with CNN Abu Dhabi concerning her work with refugees.
“I’ve met amazing women here that are really strong and have taught me a lot … I don’t think people realize how accepted it is for a woman to be a strong woman in the UAE. It is a very appreciated thing.”
Lindsay Lohan has long had an empathy with the Middle East, close-fitting earlier this year that she’s learning Arabic as well as spending plenty of time volunteering in Syrian refugee camps.
The actress spoke out about her new faith last year after she was photographed in 2015 carrying a copy of the Quran.
“My very close friends, who have been there for me a lot, in London are Saudi and they gave me the Quran and I brought it to New York because I was learning,” she exposed on Turkish TV show Haber Turk.
“The Quran opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning. This is who I am.”
