This nightmare of a photo right here is one that Jessica Simpson shared of her husband, Eric Johnson, throwing their one-year-old son, Ace, really, really high up in the air. She seems to think it's a cute little family photo, but the reality is that it is terrifying and irresponsible and hey, did we mention terrifying?
It's not that hard, guys: don't throw babies. There is an extremely limited number of reasons to throw babies -- like maybe if you were holding a baby and also about to get mauled by a tiger, and you noticed a nearby baby-shaped hole in a wall that led to a room made of pillows and gentleness -- but "just for funzies" is not one of those reasons. If you even feel an urge to defend why you should be allowed to throw babies, go ahead and check yourself: no one needs to throw babies.
Eric has this kid real, real high here, and guys, he's not a wizard. He can't control everything, accidents happen all the time, and it's just senseless to risk it like this. They're in a pool, and that's plenty of fun for a baby. If the baby needs to be thrown up to the sky in order to have some fun, then there are some bigger issues that need to be examined anyway.
Basically: no. No, Jessica Simpson, this is not cute, and no, Mr. Jessica Simpson, you shouldn't be throwing babies. This is truly a simple concept that can and should be embraced by all. Thank you.
