Nunes: Rousey really thought she could keep up?

Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes successfully defended her title at UFC 207. The Brazilian struck Ronda Rousey after only 48 seconds standing Ko and so forced referee Herb Dean Rousey from the fight take ( GNP1.de reported ). The title holder spoke up after the duel.

Amanda Nunes (14-4) defended her gained against Holly Holm belt for the first time. Ronda Rousey (12-2), however, suffered his second career defeat.

"I saw that she had already hit the first goal," Nunes said. "That made me even more self-assured, to press on the gas."

Rousey was incapable of standing. The American woman was hitting hard combinations and was shaken by quick fists, holding onto the cage to avoid falling to the ground, and obviously no longer being able to fight as the rangers intervened and kept them from further damage.

"I knew she wanted to box with me," Nunes continued. "She really thought she could keep up because her coach told her she had good striking."

The Brazilian also explained that she had prepared herself for exactly that scenario and that her Rousey fell directly into the trap. Already after the title success against Miesha Tate Nunes attracted attention. With this victory against Rousey Nunes confirmed her place on the throne in bantamweight.


"I know that the girls (in my weight class) can not eat my fists," Nunes concluded, as a warning to their opponents. Who the "lioness" will soon run in front of his fists, is not yet determined at this time.

Win or lose, UFC 207 headliner Ronda Rousey is going home with a disclosed payday of $3 million.

Rousey, a small favorite heading into the fight, is slated for a flat payday of $3 million. Opponent Nunes, meanwhile, is slated for a $100,000 purse. Unlike Rousey, who isn’t eligible for a win bonus, Nunes can earn an extra $100,000 if victorious.
