Aubrey Plaza
Aubrey Plaza's Life After Beth co-stars found her relationship with Jeff Baena "weird".
The 30-year-old actress is currently dating filmmaker Jeff Baena, and stars in his comedy horror movie Life After Beth.
Recalling shooting one scene in the movie, which required her and co-star Dane DeHaan to "make out", Aubrey remembers how her and her beau's professional relationship triggered surprise from those around them.
"[Jeff] asked me if I could get more into it. He said, 'Like moan or just... get more into it?' And I was like... 'Yeah, I can get more into it. I'm gonna do that for you,'" she recalled to Nylon magazine's October issue. "Our co-stars, John [C. Reilly] and Molly [Shannon], were like, 'You guys have a really weird relationship.' And I was like, 'I know'. I have to say, though, there's something freeing about making out with someone in front of him, and having him direct it. It's kind of perverted in a way that I really like."
The couple live together in Los Feliz. This collaboration on Jeff's movie marks their first, but it didn't affect their home life, and Aubrey enjoys the set-up they have on a day-to-day basis.
"We're a little old-school. Part of why we like playing games is because it forces you to sit around a table and talk," she smiled.
"We kind of do our things separately. We're total collaborators when we want to be, but I think we're both naturally personal with our work. I go into a weird mental state, and I just have to do my own things and come back to reality later."
