Joan Rivers is being lifted out of her induced coma

Doctors began taking Joan Rivers out of her induced coma on Sunday, Aug. 31, sources confirm to Us Weekly.
The comedian, 81, was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital and put into an induced coma after she stopped breathing during a throat procedure on Thursday, Aug. 28.
"Everyone is shocked that this happened,” a source tells Us, adding the Fashion Police host was in high spirits the night before her hospitalization. “She's a strong woman, people aren't giving up hope, but it's very serious right now,” the insider adds.
