In a remote village in India, a young woman is being forced to marry someone she doesn't want to. We feel like in arranged marriages, that's generally the sentiment.
But the bride's husband isn't also usually a stray dog!!
Yup, an 18-year-old woman, Mangli Munda, was made to marry a dog by her parents.
Speaking about her parents' choice of groom she said:
"I am not happy with this marriage."
Yeah, we'd be surprised if you were!
Her family was forcing her to marry the dog because it was supposed to cure her bad luck, ward off evil spirits and make sure her eventual marriage to a human lasts a long time.
That's right, her marriage to the dog is more ceremonial than permanent so that's good news for Mangli!
